CLIENT INTERVIEW: How Servicing Stop engineered their current success.


Servicing Stop are a very simple yet effective company, who make the process of having car service hassle free and cost effective. Instead of dealing with a garage, or negotiating the service cost and work- via Servicing Stop you can book your car service with them and they will make sure everything is taken care for you.  

We interviewed the Servicing Stop CEO Oliver Richmond to learn more about their success:

1)  Servicing Stop is the leading independent Automotive Servicing Solution  in the UK. To what do you attribute your success?

We’ve come a long way in a relatively short time. I think the key reason we’ve succeeded is because we’re offering something completely different to other car service providers. The way business is conducted has changed in so many industries as a result of the digital age; car servicing shouldn’t be any different. Nowadays, poor service isn’t tolerated by customers. Underperforming companies are named and shamed online to a much bigger audience. Currently, car servicing is one of the least trusted industries. 

We’ve introduced new standards of transparency, and simplified the whole process, making it easier and much more convenient for the customer. Thousands of customers go to everyday, and thereby improving the car service experience. From the garages point of view it’s good too, as we’ve removed the paperwork, boosted the amount of jobs they’re getting and made things a lot more flexible. 2)  Your headcount growth over the last 2 years has been exponential, how have you managed to sustain this?

The past 12 months has seen a sizable increase in our workforce, with more set to join. It’s important to have the right people for the right jobs. We’re very selective in our recruitment and a career at Servicing Stop offers scope for real career progression. We also provide thorough on-the-job training, so new employees feel at home right from the beginning.

3) Servicing Stop has a very diverse workforce, how do you keep different generations engaged and content?

We’re a young company with a young workforce. No two days are the same at Servicing Stop. The work is challenging and stimulating with plenty of opportunity to be creative. There’s also a healthy competitiveness, which leads to good results and a nice spirit of camaraderie.  

4) Your headquarters is situated in Enfield, why is it that you have chosen this part of Greater London to base your operations?

Enfield is home. We’re both from Enfield, our families are here, most of our staff come from round here. It’s where we feel most comfortable. Enfield is a perfect place to grow the business. We’re proud to be one of a number of hi-growth, hi-tech companies to have based our headquarters here in recent years. 

5) Having had positive media exposure do you plan any future campaigns to secure Servicing Stop as both a household and trade recognisable brand name?

We’re planning a series of television, radio and online advertisements campaigns over the next 12 months to bring the company further into the public’s awareness. The Dragons’ Den appearance did us a lot of favours and took us properly into the mainstream, you can see our pitch below! The real growth however comes from the word of mouth generated by satisfied customers. You get the basics right and the rest usually takes care of itself!
